It's funny how life comes full circle. Long before North Georgia Replacement Windows was even a thought, our founders, Ted Kirk and Jonathan Collum, were just friends playing catch. An errant throw and the crash of glass led to their very first unofficial window repair job. Little did they know that this moment was a small preview of a future dedicated to bringing light, quality, and service into thousands of homes across Georgia.
This year, we are incredibly grateful and humbled to celebrate 20 years in business. What started in a basement in Cumming, GA, in 2005 has grown into a journey far beyond what we could have imagined. It's a story built not just on windows and doors, but on a foundation of friendship, unwavering values, and a deep commitment to the community we serve. As we reflect on the last two decades, we want to share the milestones and the principles that have shaped who we are and light the way for our future.
The Foundation: From a Basement to a Brand (2005-2015)
Every great story has a humble beginning, and ours is no different. Ted and Jonathan launched the company from a basement, driven by a simple desire to do the right thing and provide a better experience for homeowners. Operated on Christian principles, the goal was clear from day one: treat every customer with respect and honesty.
By 2008, we moved into our first official space in Roswell, and in 2012, we even hired our first mascot, Jonathan's dog Duke, adding to our family-operated feel. During these formative years, we offered over 26 different window brands. We learned a lot, but we also realized that offering everything wasn't the same as offering the best. This realization set the stage for one of the most important business decisions in our company's history.
A Pivotal Moment: The Infinity from Marvin Partnership (2016-2019)
Our goal is to make "window and door shopping simple." After experiencing issues with other window brands and being introduced to the Infinity fiberglass window, we knew we had to simplify and perfect our offerings. In 2016, we made a pivotal shift. We went from selling dozens of brands to becoming the sole exclusive provider of Infinity from Marvin® fiberglass windows in Georgia.
Why? Because we believe Infinity from Marvin offers the absolute best in beauty, performance, and durability. Their Ultrex® fiberglass is eight times stronger than vinyl, providing slim, elegant window frames that let in more natural light without the bulky frames of composite windows. This partnership allowed us to stand behind one superior product, confident that we were providing a solution that would last a lifetime.
The decision was immediately validated. Our company growth required us to expand our office space in 2017, and by 2018, we were honored as the #1 partner nationwide for Infinity from Marvin. We had found our niche: educating homeowners on the best products while serving with the best practices.
Recent Milestones (2020-2025)
The last five years have been a period of incredible growth and refinement.
- We aligned our branding with Infinity from Marvin and launched our Window Wisdom Podcast to further our educational mission.
- We established a dedicated leadership team and adopted the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to ensure we could scale our exceptional service.
- In 2023, we moved into our new headquarters and state-of-the-art showroom in Alpharetta, a space designed to help you see and experience the Marvin difference firsthand.
- We were honored to partner with beloved Atlanta Meteorologist Glenn Burns, a trusted voice in the community for 40 years.
- Earlier this year we welcomed our new CEO, Adam Mowbray, to help lead us into the next chapter.
